Sphere Edged Weapons Awareness & Defence Course

Situational awareness is a major part of staying safe. Being situationally aware of your surroundings is a must it may not prevent an attack but it will make it much more likely you to see it coming. Sphere’s defensive training includes all aspects required to be able to survive including empty hands, edged weapons and blunt impact weapons.

Our Edged Weapons Programmes and Courses will prepare individuals for the ever-increasing knife/edged weapons attacks that are a reality of our world. Get training, skills, strategies and tactics in situational pre-empt and response.                            Our courses also cover the pandemic of knife crime and adapted weapons awareness plus much more.

Escape and Evasion weekend

Can you and your team escape capture from an elite task force tracking you through a wooded area and if you are caught will you be able to escape? You will need to use team work and draw on the survival skills you will learn from one of our experts in this field. 

On **Day 1** you will be taught the survival skills you will need whilst escaping and evading the task force, including a safety briefing, how to make shelter to protect you from the elements, how to forage for food, how to make a fire without matches or lighters and the importance of utilizing your surroundings to escape capture, you will spend the first night in camp with the sphere team who will regale you with true stories of their own previous elite training. 

 
On **Day 2** you will be taken to a location and within your teams have to escape and evade the elite task force who will stop at nothing to capture you, you will be given a back story that you have to remember should you be captured and interrogated you will then have to make your escape again and find your way to the RVP to meet with your team. You will spend one night where you will have to utilize the survival skills you have been taught to make camp.

Two Day Survival Course.

Our 2 day survival course is available to all ages and skill level, whether you have are an avid survival fanatic, a novice or just being made to participate by the children you will definitely learn something new and have fun doing it too! Our course is very practical and hands on you will have the chance to try your hand at making a fire without the use of matches, how to build shelter, how to trap of snare food, knife safety, finding water and making it safe to drink, navigating using the sun and stars and also which wild foods, plants, fungi, worms, snails, grubs and insects are safe to eat (actual consumption is optional)

You will be taught by an elite expert instructor within this field who has utilised all of these survival tactics in real situations. Our 2 day survival courses are very popular however there are still some spaces left. Upon application you will receive a brief with items you will need to bring with you however as you will be learning to live in a real life survival situation very few personal items are needed.
